Been in the Hospital and Sick
Well I really wanted to end our 2 week break in style.... Ending up in the hospital by EMS Tuesday am stayed over night. Still don't know much other than I have a bowel infection and 2 more test the Dr would like to do on my heart. So please pray for me to feel well soon. I am a lot better however this is honestly about all I can write. I'm very weak and tired and have been sleeping a lot and not able to do much at a time. Everyone who knows me understands how very hard this is on me. I am a very independent soul and I am thankful for the friends and family I have that have helped me. My husband has been wonderful. I scared him and my mother horribly. Pray for me to get better and we will be taking another week off of school since I don't have energy to do so.

Week 10 - Last Week Of Break
So this is our last week of break. I can tell you we have thoroughly enjoyed it! Sleeping late - going to bed late! Being lazy through out the day too!! Its wonderful to have a break. However we have one that is very happy school starts back next week. She has already been doing math and reading up a storm. I don't think she ever wants a break from school which totally makes me happy!
Kids have stayed with grandparents, went fishing with uncle and had a camp fire outing!
I've gotten a cold. Kids have dentist visit this week. Homeschool group this week. Gymnastics and the kids have to go get flu shot!
Just thought this was funny and wanted to share:
BE BLESSED & Have a Great Week!

Wordless Wednesday Week 9 - Break & Field Trip
This week is a break week for us however I still want to share our cool field trip we went on Saturday! All had a blast! We went to Linville Caverns a cave that has tours to explore inside. I went as a child and it was neat to take mine back.
Waiting to go in!!
Neat campfire story about old soldiers finding the cave to try to excape however the fire they built to stay warm ended up getting them caught!
Cute little bat!
Standing over a bottom less pit!
I think they are having fun!
Fresh water from inside a cave!!! Tour guide said it was safe to drink and everyone (well not me) took a sip!
Having fun!
Another Bat...
Rainbow Trout inside the stream of the cave!

Old Fashion Pumpkin Cookies
I love Pumpkin.
I love Autumn.
So of course they go together wonderfully!
This week at Homeschool Group the crafting class the two smallers take learned about Pumpkins and my wonderful friend made Pumpkin Cookies. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful they were!! I am not going to tell you how many I let my self eat, Cause I would be so embarrassed.
I came home and the wonderful lady had emailed me the recipe. So what else was there to do -- other than making some!!
Recipe:
1 cup shortening
1 cup cooked pumpkin
2 cups all-purpose (plain) flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¾ cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup brown sugar
Mix all ingredients together until fully blended. Place rounded spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
Flatten slightly with fork. Bake at 350 until lightly brown around edges. They will be soft and gooey, but should have cake-like consistency when cool.
FOR GLAZE:
COMBINE 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in small bowl until smooth.
ENJOY!

Afternoon Adventures Hike
Our home-school group has had some wonderful field trip ideas since August and we have participated in two of those!
Last Wednesday the kids went with their daddy to Afternoon Adventures which is organized by a home-school mother that is also a State Ranger!! Cool huh!! So she puts these hikes together for every other Wednesday or so and with my work schedule the kids aren't able to go unless Kevin's off. Lucky he was and so the kiddos was happy!
Kevin had a blast and so did the kids! They learned tons of facts about trees some seeds and some animals. The hike lasted almost 2 hours. I wish I could of went however just glad they was able to go!
