Praying Mantis Lapbook Complete

I didn't realize how I've completely neglected posting about our Lapbooks. With things so busy lately and coop and working I just haven't posted the way I need to. So with that said I'm going to take you through our awesome study we completed on Praying Mantis.

Huge shout out to Homeschool Share (again) for helping me supply my kids with some awesome learning free to me.  If you haven't ever looked at Homeschool Share please go on over. Ami and her family is saving money for an adoption at this point and time and she just released her first item for sale. I can't brag enough on what HSS does in helping me with our homeschooling journey!

We decided on the Praying Mantis study for a couple different reasons. 1 - we seriously knew NOTHING about them. 2 - beginning of spring we saw one and again knew nothing!

DD is always very eager to show off her work. She loves lapbooking and I am glad and proud to allow her to show off what she has put together.

I know your thinking a Purple Praying Mantis??? Gee-sh what an imagination. Well let me correct ya because there are actually purple praying mantis!! We was shocked to learn there are over 2,000 different kind!!! Yikes!! That was the shocker for us I think!

DD says that the most interesting fact was that they live all there lives in one place. We laughed and said they are not adventurers! She also said the nastiest thing was they are cousins to a cockroach!!

We sadly on this unit didn't have many books to enjoy from our local library. We read 2 books and done some researching on line to see the awesome colors of some of them. We read The Life Cycle of a Praying Mantis and Stick Bugs!

This one is an Orchid Praying Mantis... Awesome!!

Here is an inside view, DS2 wanted in on the action!!
DD is always a perfectionist and said her Lapbook didn't look the best because she placed everything on one side!! I cracked up!! This is yet again the best thing about Lapbooks... No right or wrong!

LOOK FOR MORE LAPBOOK POSTS. I'm trying to catch up!!
